What it can do
Seven steps, in two halves: two that start a Zap, and five a Zap can carry out.
| Step | Kind | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| New Scan | Trigger | Starts a Zap the moment one of your codes is scanned.Instant. Needs a Business plan. |
| New QR Code | Trigger | Starts a Zap when a code is created in your account.Checked every 15 minutes on Zapier's free plan. |
| Create QR Code | Action | Makes a dynamic code for a web address, with a name and your two colors. |
| Update QR Code | Action | Changes where a code points, renames it, or pauses it.Codes already printed keep working. |
| Find QR Code | Search | Looks a code up by its name. |
| Find or Create QR Code | Search | Looks a code up by name and makes one if there is no match. |
| Find Scan Stats | Search | Scan totals for a code, by day, country, city, device, browser, operating system or referrer. |
The codes are dynamic, which is the point of all of this: a Zap can change where a code goes long after it has been printed.
Connect it
1. Add a QRFLOW step to a Zap
In the Zap editor, add a trigger or an action and search for QRFLOW.codes.
2. Sign in once
Choose Sign in. A QRFLOW window opens, you check what Zapier is asking for, and press Allow.
3. Pick the account
The connection shows your QRFLOW email. Every QRFLOW step in every Zap can use it from then on.
There is no API key to copy. Open QRFLOW.codes on Zapier to start, or read the help article for every click and what to do when a step fails.
Zaps people build
When Someone fills in a form then make a code for their personal page and email it to them
When A row is added to a spreadsheet then create that row's code and write the short link back into the sheet
When A code is scanned then post the time and city to a Slack channel
When A code is scanned then add a row to a spreadsheet so the log builds itself
When A product page moves then re-point the printed packaging code at the new address
Zapier reaches 9,000 or so other apps, so the half of the Zap that is not QRFLOW can be almost anything: a form, a store, a spreadsheet, a help desk, a calendar.
Plans
| Step | Plan |
|---|---|
| Create, Update, Find, Find or Create, Find Scan Stats | Premium, $4 a month |
| New QR Code trigger | Premium, $4 a month |

Scans start a Zap on Business because that is the plan carrying scan analytics and webhooks. Your Zapier plan has its own limits on how often a Zap may run.
Questions people ask
Can Zapier make a QR code?
Yes. Add the QRFLOW.codes app to a Zap, use the Create QR Code action, and give it a web address. You get back a dynamic code and its short link, which you can email, write into a spreadsheet, or drop into a document in the next step of the same Zap.
Can a Zap change where a printed QR code goes?
Yes, that is the Update QR Code action. The code on the poster, the label or the packaging stays exactly as printed, and the Zap changes the page it opens. Nothing has to be reprinted.
Can a scan start a Zap?
Yes, with the New Scan trigger, and it is instant rather than polled. It needs a Business plan, because scan events are part of the plan that carries analytics and webhooks.
Do I need an API key?
No. Zapier connects with a sign-in and an Allow screen, so there is no key to copy or store. If you would rather call the API directly from your own code, that is the Business plan and the developer docs cover it.
Which plan do I need?
Connecting and the Create, Update, Find and Find Scan Stats steps work on a paid plan, from Premium at $4 a month. The New Scan trigger needs Business at $29 a month. Zapier's own plan limits apply on top of ours.
What does Beta mean here?
Zapier marks a new app Beta until it has been used by enough people for long enough. The integration is public and works; the label is about how long it has been listed, not about whether it is finished.
