If a scanner sees Temporarily unavailable with the words monthly scan limit, the code has passed the cap for the owner's plan this month. Scans resume on the first of next month, or right away when the plan changes.
The caps
- Free: 500 scans per code per month. This only applies to dynamic codes on an account that downgraded; Free accounts make static codes, which have no limit.
- Premium and Business: no working cap. If one code passes 100,000 scans in a month on Premium (1,000,000 on Business) we email you to check that it is intended; the hard stop is ten times that, which is abuse territory.
Lift it
Upgrade to Premium from the Pricing page. The cap lifts within seconds and the code redirects again on the next scan. You do not need to reprint or re-save anything.
- Only the people scanning see this page. Your dashboard looks normal, which is why it is usually a customer who tells you first.
- Scans that hit the page are not counted, so the number stops climbing and the month reads as a gap.
- Nothing is lost. The code, its destination, its link name and its history are all exactly where they were.
- It resets by itself on the 1st, so a code that tripped on the 28th is working again three days later with no action from you.
